About Austin Dischord
How do you keep up with a city that has one of the most vibrant musical landscapes in the world? You blog the living daylights out of it, that’s how! Austin Dischord is committed to keeping you up to date on all the music happenings in our fair city. If it’s in Austin and has one or all of those wonderful musical elements you’ve learned throughout your life (verse, chorus, bridge, or, thanks to T-Pain, autotune), then you’ll find it here. Concert previews, reviews, venue report cards, local artist spotlights, you name it. We’ve got it all. With that in mind, come on in, look around and stay for a while. We think you’re going to like what you hear.

I am a pop-culture nerd who loves music and Austin, so I guess it’s a good thing I have an outlet for both with this blog. I was born in the early 80’s and though I was too young to remember most of it, I have come to love the decade that introduced the world to Thriller, Just Like Heaven and Welcome to the Jungle. I’m an entertainment junkie with interesting tastes, mixing the massively popular with the less-so. From American Idol and Lost, to Dream Theater and Blue October, some stuff I love, everyone else does. Other stuff I love, everyone else not so much. I’ve been a writer with the University of Texas’ The Daily Texan as a senior entertainment writer for two and a half years now, and I’ve just recently become addicted to Twitter. I’m also lame enough to have created myself a fan page on facebook. Your fandom would be appreciated.

Hello, my name is Scott Richert and I am addicted to music. I spend my spare time perusing Austin’s wonderful variety of record stores and music venues trying to find new, offbeat music. Frank Zappa is my hero, I think that says enough about me…
